Sanding & Finishing

  • Dust-free sanding system - this process allows us to leave your house or office space completely spotless
  • Dustless hardwood floors have even more benefits than traditional hardwood floors because there isn’t excess wood dust floating in the air. This is due to dustless sanding procedures, which suck up all of the excess dust created during the sanding process. A coat is then added on top of the wood to protect your floor from wear and tear.
  • If you already have hardwood floors and want to restore them, dust-free refinishing can be a great option, rather than tearing it out and starting all over again. Hawaii Flooring Specialists pride themselves in offering the most affordable hardwood floor refinishing services in the area.

Wood Floor Types

  • Solid wood flooring- Exactly how it sounds, it's a solid piece of wood from top to bottom. This is an ideal option because it can be sanded and refinished several times.
  • Engineered wood floors- These floors are made up of three to five layers and are typically faster to install because they can be stapled to the sub-floor. Most ideal for basement and slab installations.

Wood Floor Styles

Each style is available in both solid and engineered, and in a variety of species, colors, and widths.
  • Strip- Creates a linear effect and makes the room feel larger. This is a traditional method of hardwood flooring.
  • Plank- Plank flooring is linear like strip flooring, but it's also much wider and creates a casual look.
  • Parquet- Varies in size and usually produces a geometric non-linear look. This is a good option if you want to customize your flooring.

Wood Floor Species

  • Light- Light wood can make a room feel larger and gives it a contemporary look. Typically, light wood species include Ash and Maple.
  • Medium- Medium wood feels the room feel warmer and more cozy. This species is available in Hickory and Oak.
  • Dark- This is a great way to give your room definition. Typical dark wood species include Mahogany and Walnut.

Wood Floor Installation

  • We can use several methods to install:
    • Nail
    • Glue
    • Floating
      • Residential
      • Commercial
    • Soundproofing Underlayment
  • Installing dustless hardwood flooring is is easier to install. Traditional hardwood flooring needs to be sanded down more than three times, which can take up to several days. This process also takes a toll on the wood. With dustless sanding, your hardwood floor is ready in a fraction of the time, and most of the wood isn’t sanded off.
